EasyTile 1.0 for Godot
Hello, I am writing my first devlog to announce to the community of developers of Itch.io the publication of my EasyTile tool for users of the mono version of Godot 3.X
My name is Juan Pablo and, like many other developers, I am from the old school (Spectrum, Amstrad, Nes etc ...), when I make video games I like to try to replicate the operation of these old games, not only visually but also internal, referring to how the old consoles handled tile maps, sound etc ...
EasyTile tries to get a little closer to the aspect that these games offered, stimulating the user to rely on the tilemap to create certain events in the game, many of the current games are inflated with effects ... if there is an explosion, hundreds of particles appear, light effects etc ... personally I don't like to abuse them because I think they detract from the credibility of saying that yours is a retro game, I practically don't use them in my developments.
We may use a pixelart style in your game but under the hood, the technology we use for game development ... has very little retro.
Well, for now I will not say more, you can take a look at the documentation that you will find at the end of the EasyTile description to better see what it is about.
Thanks for reading and greetings.
